22.03.2009 - The First UK Fans of Equestrian Center Sivek- Kevin and Susan Williamson

Equestrian Center Sivek has a lot of foreign visitors. Read what our favourite clients Sue and Kevin shared about their riding experience:

Kevin and I first came to Bulgaria to ride about two years ago. The freedom and the open spaces here really impressed us. The scenery and the peacefulness away from the beaten tracks are unbelievable. We had been to three different stables, which were very good and decided that when I took early retirement we would give up our own horses and come here to live; the cost of living is much lower, the people great and riding opportunities excellent. One of our treats is to go to the spa town of Velingrad and relax in one of the many spa hotels. Just outside the town I saw the fantastic countryside and said to Kevin that I would love to ride there.

Just a bit along the road we saw a sign for Angel’s riding centre ’Sivek’ We started riding there and found it to be the best riding we have ever had anywhere. There are so many different routes and types of terrain to choose from. We can ride quietly and peacefully, just looking at the stunning mountains and hill scenery, ride around lakes or to hilltop churches. You pass Shepherds and Goatherds with their flocks and the occasional horse and cart. It is like stepping back in time.

We can canter and gallop over open countryside and sandy tracks. You never run out of different rides .We stop for picnics and barbeques or tether up at a restaurant. The riding is paced by our mood or needs and we are never in large groups. Every day is different. It can be exciting or just peaceful and beautiful.

The horses are well cared for and selected for the type of riding; very sure-footed and enduring .You can choose to use Western or English saddles. Angel (An –gel) runs a small family business and is a great character. The cost is excellent value.
Added to that: luxurious hotels and regenerating spa facilities, good food, excellent Bulgarian wine, lower cost of living; what more could you want?
